On April 23, 2024, the Federal Trade Commission issued a ban on noncompete agreements, rendering it illegal to (a) enter into or attempt to enter into a noncompete with a worker; (b) maintain a noncompete with a worker; or (c) represent to a worker, under certain circumstances, that the worker is subject to a noncompete. This final rule is set to go into effect on September 4, 2024.
