This month’s organization for ALG’s Year of Giving, Apna Ghar, Inc. was selected by Partner, Kurt Drain. Read Kurt’s message below to learn why it was important to him to select this cause:
- I have been asked to choose a charitable organization to donate to as part of Arnett Law Group’s Year of Giving. Without hesitation, I chose Apna Ghar. Apna Ghar is a local, not-for-profit organization focused on ending gender violence through a three-pronged approach utilizing direct services, outreach and advocacy. Apna Ghar provides vital services including a 24-hour crisis line, safe/emergency housing, transitional/second stage housing, social services advocacy, counseling, legal advocacy and supervised visitation and safe exchange services.
- I am proud to select Apna Ghar to receive this donation because of the importance of the issues that Apna Ghar works to address and the real-world impact that the organization has. Apna Ghar’s work has an effect on a macro and micro level, dealing with many unique barriers that the organization’s participants face – having helped more than 100,000 survivors and community members over the past three decades..
